Daughter of Indian sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, Norah Jones grew up in Grapevine Texas, studied jazz at University of North Texas, and signed to Blue Note Records. Her music blends her jazz, soul, country, and pop influences. Her first album, “Come Away With Me”, blends mellow acoustic pop sounds with soul and jazz. Her second, “Feels Like Home”, is more of the same but with some of her country music influences brought to the fore.
