Band from Leeds, England tagged the “New Radiohead” by lazy music critics. Won several awards with their 2012 debut “An Awesome Wave” but not so much for their superior follow-up “This Is All Yours.” Originally called Daljit Dhaliwal after the luscious BBC news anchor but the band needed a name they themselves could spell. Ms. Dhaliwal’s parents came from India which has the world’s largest river delta, and on an Apple Mac you can type the delta symbol ∆ (often used to indicate change) with the key sequence “Alt-J”. Seems more of a random crawl through Wikipedia than a deliberate choice.
